About Kidz Carelink (Canada)
In 2001, Kidz Carelink was established when we introduced the Child Identification Program called ( Ch*I*P ). It was the initiative of Kidz Carelink, New Westminster Police Service and B.C.I.T (British Columbia Institute of Technology) Forensics Department, which together set it up as a pilot project. This program was set up to help parents and authorities use DNA to identify children, if they should ever go missing. We held DNA ID Clinics in the New Westminster Mall with nurses from the Royal Columbian Hospital and the Burnaby General Hospital to provide parents with a specially preserved drop of blood which could be used to determine the Child's DNA Fingerprint if it's ever needed.
As of 2005 Kidz Carelink developed a new ID kit using the FTA Micro Card for saliva samples. The new identification kit is called Always Mine™ Identification. This new technology would give officers an added tool for establishing a child's identity. The more options the investigators have for an identification, the better.
Kidz Carelink saw that the product has become
increasingly popular. Starting from their home office in Maple Ridge, B.C. Canada they first
supplied their product to schools and community charity organizations, as well as Child Safety
Events, free throughout B.C. For the first few years the demand outstripped supply. Now our product sells to families throughout Canada and the U.S. Kidz Carelink uses the internet for 90% of their product orders, now making their Always Mine™ Identification Kit a truly online business. |
